Williams Family take the Double at Welsh National Show

The Williams Family from Anglesey managed to take the double at the Welsh National Show which was held on Saturday 10th August 2024, kindly hosted by Llanilar Show. Judge, Mr William Thomson, Hownam Grange said afterwards the Champions of both section stood out for him immediately they came into the ring.

Initially winning Champion of the Park section with a homebred Shearling Gimmer sired by Hownam Grange Chosen One, Melfyn then went on to take the Champion of the Hill section with a two crop homebred ewe sired by Badanloch Battleship.
Following this, the Hill ewe went on to not only win the show interbreed championship but also the Champion of Champions on the show field that day - a fantastic result for both the family and the breed.

Melfyn's father, John Huw or JH to many, first began the Park flock back in 1980, one of the first established in Wales, although the flock is now ran by Melfyn and his son Joe on a day to day basis, John Huw is still very much interested and involved. Melfyn established the Hill flock almost ten years ago in 2015.
