Lockerbie In-lamb Female Sale was a huge success with sheep finding new homes from Shetland to Cornwall with 62 sheep sold at an average of £625
The sale was topped with a very strong ewe lamb, by Kinaldy Kruggerrand, from K. O. Stones, selling to £3200 – a centre and breed record. She went home with James Burton to Derbyshire along with the top priced gimmer and the second prize ewe lamb, from the Graham Family at Carruthers at £ 2200 and £1800 respectively.
The overall show champion, a park ewe from Hownam Grange, sold to J. Stevens, Leason Farm, Swansea, for £1300
The Hill Champion from W. N. Douglas, Whitehope, sold to Messrs Iredale, Penrith for £550
The Hill females averaged £442 with a top of £600 for the reserve champion, a gimmer from Kelsocleugh Farming.
