The Annual Show & Sale of Park type Rams & Females took place on Friday 15th September at Quoybrae Auction Mart, Caithness.

The judges for the single ram classes were Mr Norman Robinson, Benrafton & Mr James Metcalfe, Greenhills who'd travelled from Northern Ireland & Derbyshire respectively to take the reins of this year's judging. Over 30 rams were brought out for the shearling ram class & the judges took their time to find their selection for the top places.
Champion was awarded to Lot 59 Biggins Dictator from JS Mackay, a Cairnside Craftsman son who later sold for £4200 to W Mackay, Balkeith, Reserve Champion went to Lot 90 Bardnaclavan Dazzler, sired by another Cairnside tup, this time Cairnside Action Man he joins the Dounreay flock of Andrew Gunn for £3500.
Top price in the rams came early in the sale for Lot 4 from Robert Poleson who'd travelled from Orkney, Swinister Delphinus sired by Overacres Big Lad was first in the ring from this first time consignor, selling for £6000 to Andrew Polson, Smerlie. The same flock went on to sell a a further three rams for £3000, £2800 & £1500 giving him the leading flock average on the day too of £3325 for four. A further highlight was Lot 87 Achscrabster Everest, a ram lamb sired by Cairnside Crusader selling for £1200 to JS Mackay, Biggins.

Females were not to be out done though this year by the rams, taking the Champion position was Lot 109, a Biggins gimmer sired by Biggins Xerick stood for a new breed record for a female of £5000 to James Bruce, Box Hill. Judging the females & groups this year were Mr Ben Baker, BB & Miss Katy Davies, Pen Y Bont who had both travelled from Wales.Their reserve champion female was Lot 102, a Bardnaclavan ewe lamb sired by Biggins Bravo who also joins the Box Hill flock for £800.
