Dingwall Hill Sale 2023

The Annual Show & Sale of North Country Cheviot Rams took place at Dingwall & Highland Marts on Friday 20th October 2023, with a huge entry of over 800 rams, challenging weather conditions meant numbers forward were less.
The pre-sale show was ably judged by well-known breeder Mr Roderick Runciman, Allanshaws who found his Champion in the Blingery consignment of Morven Coghill, a Three shear, Blingery B 07290 sired by Keppoch V 12549 later sold for £2600 with the judge taking him home to Galashiels.
Reserve Champion was awarded to lot 276 Longoe Caretaker sired by Philiphaugh V 14956  from The Queen Elizabeth Castle of Mey Trust in Caithness he sold for £3000 and joins the Dunbeath flock, Caithness.

Top price wasn't to be waited for long, Lot 195 a two shear Inkstack ram sired by Langdale Lets Be Having You from Red Robertson sold for £6000 to Jan Mackenzie, Langdale. Following this at £5800 was Lot 720 Allanshaws, a two shear sired by Philiphaugh Xcitable he heads to the Isle of Syke to join the Ose flock of Neil Mongomery. The same home had £4800 for lot 722 who heads home with Andrew Elliot, Balnakeil and a further £2500 and £2200 all for two shears bred the same way.
Next in the money came two at £4000, first lot 104 a two shear from Stouphill sired by the homebred Stouphill Admiral, he stood 3rd in the show and joins Martyn Cook's Dorrery flock and at the same money was lot 649 Inverbroom Commando sired by Keppoch King Kong, he joins the Badanloch flock managed by Hughie Mackenzie.

Throughout the sale there was soemthing for everyone with plenty of tups at good commercial money.
