Longtown Sale 2023

A new sale day for this year's North Country Cheviot Sale at Longtown Auction Mart, Monday 25th September, didn't deter any buyers, with a busy ringside throughout the sale.

Topping the days trading and first into the ring, was a shearling ram from R & T Dun, Gilston - Gilston Don Carlo sired by Belmaduthy Blaze realised £1600 and was purchased by J Runciman & Son, Allanshaws. WD Allen, Humbleheugh had the next two best, £1350 for Humbleheugh D 26079 a Hownam Grange X Factor son purchased by J Capper, Kirkby Stephen & £1200 for Humbleheugh D 26082 this one a Carruther Xavi son heading to Churchstile Farming, Seascale. Another at £1200 came for a three shear from Diana Walton,  Overacres Bruno sired by Gilston Xerxes sold to J & E Campbell, Roseburgh. Well known breeders, Messrs Matthewson, Soutra also sold their third ram in for £1200 to Grain Farms, Hebdon Bridge.

Leading the Hill Rams, Priesthaugh C 18535 a Clerkhill Xtrail son from J Anderson, he sold for £700, this was followed by £550 for Gillesbie Cocky from Gillesbie Farms & £500 for Portmore Disco from CM Reid.
