Monmouthshire In-Lamb Sale Report 2025
The Sale of In-Lamb Ewes and Ewe Hoggs was held at Monmouthshire Livestock Centre on Saturday 25th January 2025, a huge entry saw 173 forward for the sale which was an increase of 61 on the year previous. The pre-sale show was ably judged by Miss Daisy Williams, of the Muddy Plox flock for the Park type and Mr John Lloyd, Cefn looking after the Hill section.
Taking the top honours in the Park section was well known local breeder, Ben Baker, BB flock, his one crop ewe sired by Smerlie Exreme sold scanned in lamb to Belmaduthy Estevez with a single, going home with Richard Marks, Richline, West Sussex for £861. In reserve was a Shearling Ewe sired by Carruthers C 09678 scanned with twins to Philiphaugh E 40974 from Messrs AT & PT Jones, Clytha.
In the Hill section, Champion came from Messrs AT & PR Jones, Clytha for their four year old ewe scanned with twins, she realised £441 selling locally to Rob Evans. Reserve came for a Shearling Ewe from GG & HE Severnoaks, Parc Lodge who later sold for £315.
