North Country Cheviot Sheep Society

Royal Welsh Show 2022

The judging of the North Country Cheviot classes at the Royal Welsh Show took place in the mid day sunshine on Tuesday 19th July 2022, in the capable hands of Mr Alan Cowens, Philiphaugh.

Once again a large entry of quality sheep were presented, with a good crowds watching on.

Homebred Shearling sired by Humbleheugh Ambassador out of a homebred ewe by Hownam Grange Sonny Bill.

This ram won the Elgan Williams Memorial Trophy for the best shearling ram.

5 Shear Maerdy Ewe sired by Muirton Sooperior out of a Shoestanes ewe, she was purchased as a ewe lamb at the Monmouthshire sale in 2017 & stood 2nd at Royal Welsh Show & Reserve Champion at Welsh National Show in 2018 as a Shearling.

Homebred ewe lamb sired by Crofthead Boxer who was purchased from Lockerbie in 2021 for £2000
