Another fantastic entry of North Country Cheviots at the Great Yorkshire Show gave this year's judge, Mrs Joanna Gall of the Belmaduthy flock plenty to think about but taking it all in her stride she found her overall breed champion in the Rivendale pen from Jack Webster.
A 4 shear ram, Overacres Alert is sired by Broomhillbank Wee Toronto & out of a homebred Overacres ewe, originally purchased by the Baillies, Sebay, Jack bought him privately in 2022. Female Champion & Reserve Overall, a homebred gimmer from the Stones family, Nun Cote Nook, she is sired by South Lund Vanished & out of a homebred ewe.
The spectators were treated to a great show of high standard sheep & even though the rain didn't entirely stay away the ringside was busy throughout the judging with visitors wanting to see the Northies in the flesh.

The highs kept on coming in the Interbreed, with our breed champion, Overcares Alert from J Webster, going on to win Non MV Interbreed Champion on the Thursday & in the Pairs Interbred on Friday, KO Stones, Nun Cote Nook received Supreme Champion Pairs with their homebred pair - a Two Shear Tup, Nun Cote Nook Charmander sired by Allanshaws Xray & a Gimmer sired by Siuth Lund Vanished & Reserve Non MV Group of Three later in the day.
