The Welsh National Show 2024 was kindly hosted by Llanilar Show in Mid-Wales, a beautiful setting not far from Aberystwyth and generously sponsored by Greenlands Insurance.

A well-known face in the North Country Cheviots, Mr William Thomson, Hownan Grange made the 7 hour journey South from the Scottish Borders to take control of the judging, both Park and Hill types.

The day began, a little damper than hoped but it certainly didnt dampen the enthusiasm of those attending. Park classes were the first to be judged with the Overall Champion eventually coming from the Pengroes pen of JH Williams, A homebred gimmer who the judge said 'stood out the minute she entered the ring', with Reserve Overall a Shearling Tup from Ben Baker's BB flock who previously won Overall Champion at this years Royal Welsh Show.
Reserve Female Champion also came from JH Williams, in the form of his first place Ewe, with Reserve Male coming from Dave Pittendriegh's Coed Y Foel flock - a Tup lamb who again had stood 1st place at the Royal Welsh Show this year.

The Hill section was also dominated by the Williams Family, scooping the double and standing Overall Champion again, this time with a homebred ewe who'd never been shown before, Reserve Overall went to Gareth Price's two shear homebred ram, who also took the reserve famale title with a homebred gimmer. Reserve Male again went to a tup lamb, this time from Tomos Ellis, Hiraethog.
