RWAS - Hill Results (AONHB)

The Hill type North Country Cheviots were represented in the Any Other Pure Native Upland Breed classes at the Royal Welsh Show on Tuesday 21st July, where judging was carried out by Mr Alun Evans, Gwynedd.

A strong show of Hill North Country Cheviots saw the Overall Championship awarded to an outstanding aged ewe from Gareth & Catrin Price's Cymraeg flock. Catching the judge's eye as soon as she entered the ring, this impressive homebred ewe is sired by Cymraeg B02553, a tup which went on to sell for £7,500 at the Lockerbie Sale.

Standing Reserve Overall Champion was a stylish shearling tup from Tomos Ellis's Hiraethog flock, sired by Achentoul D23481, while the Reserve Male Champion rosette was awarded to the aged tup Balmacara Class Act, exhibited by Phil & Amy Jones of the Clytha flock.

Completing the championship line-up, the Reserve Female Champion honour was awarded to a South Country Cheviot gimmer.

Congraulations to all the exhibitors.
